Aliens has been and is presently among the greatest sci fi movies to date. Even now after several years have whistled away from its release the film doesn’t cease to astonish. I remember seeing the movie only a few days ago and it captivated me yet again. The tension and the horror experienced by Ripley is palpable. And after so many years, Aliens: Colonial Marines is trying to capture that fear and terror once again.
Gearbox Software has done a great job in keeping the Aliens heritage thriving. Since the atmosphere to the pressure building up to the teaser amongst the Marines is exactly right. Placed after Aliens 3, Aliens: Colonial Marines has been created in partnership with 20th Century Fox. And it shows in the attention to detail that is obvious in the game.
Aliens begins once you board on to the U.S.S Sephora, a sister ship to the Sulaco we encountered in the film. The moment you walk on this forsaken place you will start to experience the ambiance building up.
Cruz who looks like the leading official is the one who manipulates the Colonial Marines. This is the initial character you will meet in Aliens. From the start Aliens takes on a serious and ominous hint.
The demo is all that we have to play for now so we are planning to take it as a benchmark of events to come though with a grain of salt. The trailer leads you through the ‘ghost’ ship next to your crew of marines. The trailer features some old reminders to the Aliens movie. For example after a battle in the shelter of Sulaco you’ll observe that it is the area where Ripley battled with the aliens.
Till now the Aliens game is everything that concerns the setting and the Aliens. Both are arrive nicely and Gearbox is doing its job well. If the entire game is as good as this then we are in for a joy ride.
The game is set to be released on 12th February 2013. Watch out for our detailed analysis so far.
Dead space 3 is an upcoming survival horror game developed by Visceral Games. This is going to be the third main entryto the Dead Space series. Set in the frozen planet of Tau Volantis, players will again play the role of Isaac Clark and his accomplice Jhon Carver in their mission to halt the rampaging Necromorphs – dead human bodies revived by an alienvirus which are hell bent to destruct anything that crosses their path.
Developers have struggled greatly to make Dead Space 3 a success. For reasons that are too many to name, previous games in this series hardly made it to the “satisfactory” mark. Ridiculous as it may seem, the terror of being stranded alone in a spaceship teeming with zombies were at times overwhelmed by the unpromising details, repetitiveness, as well as flawed story line (Clark is supposedlyan ordinaryengineer, but he ends upexpending Flamethrowers and Machine-guns without any difficulty whatsoever). A relative amount of new elements and attributes has been added to make sure Dead Space 3 doesn’t end up as boring as its predecessors – which is good news, however whether the littlest flaws have been correctedstill remains questionable.
The most thrillingnew addition in Dead Space 3 is the new Co-op mode which allows players to team up with their friendsto overcome the horrorsurrounding them, and at the same time unlocksome additional storylines. The co-op demo teaser was very interesting to watch, as it showed that at some points players begin to imagine – to survive from which effective communication is crucial. This game mode has never been implemented before, and will no doubt capture the attention of a lot of new game enthusiasts, as well as convince the older gamers to give this seriesanother shot.
Another new feature is the Weapons Bench. This is a revamped version of the weapon improvement system in previous games. Now players will need to “construct” new weapons from vital components they collect in-game. Additionally, they are eligible to build additional even more lethal weapons by merging a couple of weapons – like a gun that burns opponents that it rips off or a firearm that fires electric rivets – the inflections on weapons in Dead Space 3 are endless.
Ultimately, we cannot yet be sure if Dead Space 3 will become a preferable option than a typical game or not. The co-op mode looks really promising though. What we can do now is look forward to the release date, which is February 2013.
Dante’s back. Those two words bring millions of gamers into euphoria. Originally announced to be released on 2012. The hack and slash, beat em up game developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom returns for its fifth installment. Early press releases show that DmC: Devil May Cry is set in an alternate universe (which explains a Dante’s costume change). DmC: Devil May Cry also hints that Dante may not be a half demon half human spawn but rather a half angel and half demon Nephilim.
The game takes place in a town called Limbo City. A small and quiet town that is secretly being controlled by powerful demons from within by manipulating the population through comfortable living. Living on the fringes of the brainwashed society is Dante; a disenfranchised youth at odds with the demons who constantly hunt him, and have made his life a living hell for as long as he could remember. During one of his battles with the demons in the streets of Limbo, he is contacted by The Order, an underground group determined to free Limbo City from the clutches of the demons. The Order is led by Vergil, Dantes long lost twin brother, Dante is being recruited by The Order is because he alone possesses a particular gene that maybe the solution to banishing the demons away from Limbo City forever. While fighting with The Order, Dante will discover his true identity, his family while coming to grips with the awesome powers that come with being a Son of Sparda.
Players again take on the role of Dante, with his trusty sword Rebellion and his twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory. Players can still juggle and perform vicious combos on unwary demons. And there are also a couple of new tricks up Dante’s sleeve. Players can now activate two more alternate modes for Dante, the Devil Mode and the Angel Mode. Devil Mode transforms Dante’s sword Rebellion into Arbiter, an ax like weapon, while Angel Mode transforms Rebellion into Osiris, a scythe like weapon. Both modes has its pros and cons, and switching between the three modes allows Dante to execute more devastating combos. Another upgrade for Dante is the Devil Trigger mode, which slows time around him, much like bullet time in Max Payne games, which further allows him to extend his combos. The usual demon soul collecting for purchasing equipment and move set upgrades are also still in the game.
DmC:Devil May Cry is set to be released on January, 2013. Believe me. It will be well worth the wait, and you can find out more, and stay up to date at http://gamearrivals.com
